A Specialist Chiropractor in Leith
One Chiropractic is a specialist chiropractor in Leith, focused on persistent headaches, migraine, neck pain and jaw pain.
Most clinics treat everything from backs to knees. We focus on the head, neck and jaw, because these are some of the hardest problems to resolve. They’re closely linked, the symptoms overlap, and treating one area alone rarely works. Getting them right takes a detailed understanding of how the three work together, and training well beyond standard chiropractic.
Patients come from all over Leith, from the Shore and Leith Walk to Newhaven, Trinity and Bonnington. Most have already tried other treatments without lasting results. They come here to find out why their symptoms keep returning, and to get a clear plan to fix it.

Sound Familiar?
Maybe it’s the headache that arrives by mid-afternoon. The neck that locks when you reverse out of a parking space. The jaw you only notice once you’ve spent the evening clenching it.
Most people who book in from Leith have already had a go at fixing it: a course of physio, a massage when it’s bad, painkillers in the drawer, a bite guard from the dentist. Each takes the edge off. None of them stops it returning.
There’s usually a reason. Pain in the head, neck and jaw tends to be driven by how the three work together, not by the spot that hurts. Treat the sore area alone, and the pattern behind it carries on. Find the pattern, and things can change.

What We Help With
Three connected problems, assessed together.
Headaches and migraine
Many recurring headaches are linked to the neck. They often start at the base of the skull, build with screen time and stress, and come with stiffness or tight shoulders.
Some people with migraine also notice neck tension before or during an attack.
Paul assesses how your neck, upper back and jaw are working, and explains whether these may be contributing to your headaches and what can be done about it.
Neck pain
Neck stiffness, tension through the shoulders, and pain that builds with desk work, driving or poor sleep are among the most common reasons people in Leith book in.
Often the neck is doing extra work to make up for something else, which is why rubbing or stretching the sore spot only helps for a while.
Jaw pain and TMJ
The jaw and neck work closely together, so jaw pain rarely comes on its own. Clenching, clicking, facial tightness, temple pain and head pressure often come with neck stiffness.
Assessing both together can explain why a bite guard alone hasn’t settled it.
What Happens at Your First Appointment
A Thorough Assessment. Clear Answers. A Plan.
1 – We talk it through
You’ll be asked about your symptoms, what makes them better or worse, what you’ve already tried, and how they’re affecting your work, sleep and exercise.
2 – A thorough assessment
Paul looks at how your head, neck, jaw and upper back are moving and working, and how that could be contributing to your pain.
3 – A clear explanation
Paul will tell you, in plain language, what he thinks is going on and whether he can help. If he can’t, he’ll say so and point you in the right direction.
4 – Treatment, if it’s right for you
If you choose to go ahead, treatment can usually begin that day. You’ll also leave with practical advice and exercises, so progress holds between visits.
Bring any relevant scans, letters or medication details, and wear something you can move in comfortably. You’re welcome to bring someone with you.
Who You’ll See
Dr Paul Holmes is the principal chiropractor at One Chiropractic. He has more than 15 years’ clinical experience, holds a master’s degree in chiropractic, and is registered with the General Chiropractic Council.
Persistent headaches, migraine, neck and jaw pain are what he works with every day. Alongside his degree, Paul has trained with world-leading clinicians in headache and migraine care, TMJ disorders, neck dysfunction, cranial techniques, functional neurology and complex pain. It’s training that goes well beyond standard chiropractic, and it’s why so many people come to him after other treatment hasn’t worked.
Worried about having your neck cracked? You don’t have to be. Paul uses a wide range of techniques, many of them very gentle, and chooses what suits you. He’ll talk you through what he’s planning before he starts, and the choice of treatment is always yours. Plenty of people are treated without ever hearing a click.
